The first in a series of cabaret performance seasons held at the newly launched venue, Ellerslie Arts, is a unique offering in Tāmaki Makaurau. The inaugural cabaret season aligns with Matariki, and our kaiwhakahaere kura of Te Kura Maninirau, Natasha van Etten (Ngāi Te Rangi), has seeded the very first Matariki cabaret:

Gather under the stars of Matariki for a night of honour and celebration—where we uplift our artists and feast on their brilliance. Directed by Rebekkah Schoonbeek-Berridge (Ngāti Maru) and led by the powerhouse Bronwyn Turei (Ngāti Porou), this celestial cabaret is a tribute to creativity, whakapapa, and tino rangatiratanga.
